We often say jokingly that our money disappears faster than we can earn it. Nowadays, saving money is a difficult task because our desires are never ending right! But what are we actually doing about it? Have we thought about it?

Well, we definitely have thought about it to help you become financially stable. Here are some tips for you to save money.

Make a Budget

Budget Budget Budget!! We can’t emphasize more on this. Whether you have travel plans, study plans or even to buy some birthday gifts for your friends, make a budget of those expenses. Plan ahead and keep track of your personal finances.

Create Monthly Targets

A good way to reach anything in life is to set clear and realistic targets. So make a monthly target of let’s say 10% of your net income goes to your savings account. It really depends on your monthly income and your household expenses. So you be the judge and make a realistic monthly target. Save - no matter how little.

Don’t Make Instant Purchases

When you see a really nice blouse on an instagram page or a really cute bag at mango, don’t buy it instantly. Ask yourself these questions. Do you need it? Would you regret spending that much on this product? Do you have the budget to buy it this month?

Manage a ‘Buy Later’ Page

Actually, something you can do is to create a “buy later" page on your notes or even on a google document and put the link to those products. So you can come back to it when you actually have money to spend on it and ask yourself if you really need it. If the answer is yes, then buy it. If it is no, good. You have saved money.

Try to Avoid Credit Card or Borrowing Money

Using credit cards can be addictive. There will be situations where you might need to use a credit card. But it is totally stupid to use a credit card or borrow money to fund a life that you cannot afford. Because it is not cool when you’ll have to pay back the total amount in the following month or when interest is added every month on the unpaid amount and you end up spending more than you should.

Don’t Be Shy to Ask For Help

If you are struggling to change your spending habits, ask someone who you can trust for help. To get you started, ask this person to save part of your savings for you if it’s not overwhelming them. Don’t be shy or embarrassed. Because your friend or relative could be more good at managing finances than you. They can actually help you change your habits.

We hope that these tips will help you save money over time, no matter how small it is. Even the smallest step adds up in the long run and can lead to big changes. It's all about making small adjustments!
